I’ve always loved renting a car, but the price has always been out of reach. Until this past weekend, that was true of me and nearly all of the major car rental services in my area. Then, disaster struck near me in the form of a snow storm that left our city without a car rental company for three days. It was only then that I decided to really look into finding an affordable car rental near me. Here is what I discovered:
Snowbirds flock to my region every single day during the winter, yet many of them have never even been here a single day before. They come for days, weeks, or even months and rent a car when they get to nearby towns and cities. As winter weather sets in, it can be quite difficult to find a car rental company in and around Lyme, Mass. I knew that this was a problem because I’d gotten used to coming here for a day of skiing during the past several years and my last remaining car rental always ended up being at a very expensive price. However, I soon discovered that there are some excellent companies that are open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week to service those visitors.
My first stop was at the Comfort Garage in Revere. Here, you’ll find a wide selection of cars, vans, and trucks that are rented on a daily basis from many local car rental companies. The owner’s of this facility is extremely knowledgeable about the area and offers a convenient way to see all the sights in town. In addition, the garage is also open in the evening, which made for an interesting night out on a snowy day.
My next stop was at the Chittenden Motorsports parking lot in Chittenden. This was my favorite because I was able to get a rental car in, get inside and immediately start driving around town. I was very impressed by the friendliness of the people who worked here and it was very nice to be able to talk to them in everyday business as well as on the phone. After picking out a great car to rent, I drove all around the city until I found a suitable location for the day. The staff was friendly and helpful and I was soon searching for a good spot to park when I got home.
My final stop was at the Chittenden Valley Garage in West Springfield, Mass. Here, you’ll find lots of parking lots of other vehicles around. It was really nice to just sit here and take it all in while I worked on my car. The guy who worked here did a great job with my car and I was extremely impressed by all the places that I went.
These three locations make up what is known as the Central Massachusetts area. This includes everything from Harvard Square in downtown Boston, through West Springfield, into the towns of Revere and Medford. The biggest city in this region is of course Boston, but you will also find lots of smaller cities of varying sizes. These include things like West Springfield, and Chicopee. For me, a 24 hour car rental near the meadow was a really enjoyable experience, and I would definitely recommend it if you ever need a car for the day or weekend.
