It seems that Apple is preparing to launch a lossless audio plan for the Apple music streaming service, and the new Teurown carts reveal some new details about this unnoticed lossless option. Instructions found in Apple Music 3.6.0 beta application carts, including warnings about how much data will be needed for streaming lossless music when not connected to WiFi.
New details come from 9to5Google, who found it in the Apple Music Beta application for Android newly updated. This discovery shows that Apple will carry a lossless audio option to Android, while revealing the nature of this offer.
Note, Apple’s explanation of how much data will be needed for lossless audio streaming on cellular data reveals that there may be two different HIFI options: lossless audio to 24-bit / 48kHz and high resolution to 24-bit. / 192kHz.
These two lossless options will utilize the Apple Alac Codec; It is not clear whether the HIFI option will be divided in two plans or if there will be one package with a lossless streaming option. This will join the high-quality Apple Music and save data compressed audio options.
Previous leakage from 9to5mac found references to Dolby and Dolby Atmos for the iOS version of Apple Music, but 9To5Google noted that such references were lost from their stepbrings. Many details are still missing now, including how many Apple music HIFI plans will be charged and when the offer will be launched.
