Even though it really tried the best to update dozens of telephone models, it seems that this strategy pursues global HMD. Even though there is pride, quite a lot of Android vanilla, the company struggles to trigger its cellphone with the latest Android release. Now approaching the middle of this year, Global HMD released a revised timeline for Android 11 updates and it didn’t look good for the company’s reputation.
After prematurely revealing it, HMD Global did officially announce its plan for the launch of Android 11 for no less than 14 phones. The schedule will begin before 2020 ends and is expected to be completed in the second quarter of this year. Because Nokia’s telephone owner can testify, which never really happened.
As XDA will be shown, Nokia 8.3 5G is the first to get the update and it only happens in the first quarter 2021. Based on the old schedule, Nokia 1.3, 2.3, 2.4, 3.4, and 4.2 should have been upgraded to Android 11. Of course , it hasn’t happened yet.
It is possible to manage expectations, HMD Global released a revised schedule that drives almost all of the full quarter. Some, like Nokia 1 Plus, still included, strangely, but now the company’s schedule will last until the third quarter. That means that some Nokia phones will receive Android 11 just like Android 12 announced.
HMD global silence about why updates postponed but maybe the victim of its own success. Having so many telephone models from different ODM, it might be a logistical nightmare to get all this updated on schedule.
