Dream of Smartwatch Neplus has brewed for years. In 2016, the former Global Director of Carl Pei Tweeted Sketches that can be used by the company have worked for at least one year, but the device never happened. Five years later, the world that can be worn is much different. Devices from Apple, Samsung and Fitbit have been cooked and find their identity, when using an OS seems to be in Chrysalis.
This is an ineplus industry that comes in, and clearly requires a way to stand out. Instead of relies on Google’s OS Wear to debut the smartwatch, the company has produced its own software. It was not the only distinguishing: the company’s telephone was known for their fast filling technology and cleverly took it to the Oneplus watch. Modern smartwatch takes the age of freakin to charge, but Oneplus promises juice worth a week in just 20 minutes. And the price of $ 159 is another pro. But with a new OS and a little unique, Oneplus Watch struggles to hold it yourself with the competition.
Design and hardware
First, the design. OnePlus starts on the wrong foot here, and is not pure because the watch is too big for my wrist. Larger problems are only one size available. I understand Oneplus may not have production capabilities to offer different versions, but this is not a very inclusive approach. At 46mm, the Oneplus Watch case basically includes all my wrists and might be too big for most people with a sleek. At least the kasing is not too thick. It’s about the same height as the Galaxy Watch Active 2 and Apple Watch SE.
My review unit also came with the most tight strap, still too loose for me. This means that I have to keep pushing the watch on my arm when I exercise or I will not get an accurate heartbeat reading. I also hope the rope uses the closure of the buckle instead of the difficult PEG-and-hole method that makes it difficult to use. Complaints that side, oneplus watch is a device that looks clean. I was not very impressed with the basic design, but the other commented on how nice they were visible.
It might have something to do with the 1.39-inch AMOLED screen oneplus watch, which is very roomy and easy to read. I did not have a problem with the look itself, but I was disappointed that there was no active mode. That, combined with the fact that the maximum screen timeout option is only 8 seconds, meaning I am often left behind to see a dark circle.
Preparation and tracking health
Before we are too far, it is important to show that Oneplus Watch currently only supports Android devices. You must install the OnePlus Health application from the Play Store to manage your watch data and synchronize. This application looks good, aesthetic, but feels not purified. Things you don’t expect. There are three buttons at the bottom for health, fitness and managed, and most of your watch settings can be found in the last panel. But there are also small icons on the top right of the screen that looks rather like a gear, and some settings, such as the measurement unit of your choice, must be set there instead.
If you want to see the login exercises, you can see it under health. But the organization is a bit strange. This page shows your progress on things such as sleeping, heart rate, blood oxygen and stress for that day, with a card for “log exercises” in the end. It takes you to all the exercises ever recorded on the application, with a number of minutes, sessions and calories burned at the top.
You can sort this based on the type of exercise such as walking, cycling or yoga. Below is a reverse chronological list of your sessions so far, and you can knock each for further details. If you want to see your active time or practice for a week, you must return to the health page and tap the daily report card at the top, but you cannot see the details for individual exercises that way. It’s just a very clumsy navigation around.
