It seems that Roku and Google are the latest platforms in a fight against YouTube, which is about the application of YouTube TV in particular. The dispute between the two companies produced Roku removing the YouTube TV application from the platform about a week ago, but now Google returns with changes to the main application that meets the problem.
Roku users can no longer find Youtube TV applications on the platform, but the existing application installation remains. That means if you are a new YouTube TV customer who has not downloaded the application, you have to find another platform to use it … or take advantage of the new YouTube TV feature in the main YouTube application.
Only a few days after the application disposal, Google has updated its main YouTube application on the Roku platform to enter direct access to the YouTube TV platform. This means customer service no longer needs to download a special YouTube TV application to watch TV offerings directly with a skoku set-top box, stick, or smart TV.
If you are a roku device owner and youtube TV customers, you can access customers’ subscriptions in the main YouTube application on Roku in the next few days. If this sounds familiar, it’s because it’s not the first time we see the company using a solution in the midst of a dispute.
Back during Amazon and Google Feud in 2017, Google deleted YouTube from the TV Platform API, but Amazon knows this by encouraging YouTube users to open the video platform website in the web browser. It is not clear how long this fight between Google and Roku will last a long time, but until then, look for the YouTube TV link on the left side of the main YouTube application.
