If you are on Twitter for a while, especially if you use it for the network, you might have collected a lot of direct messages. Searching through these messages for certain content has never been easier, but Twitter took steps to overcome this problem last year. Now back with the latest evolution of this effort, which finally arrives on Android.
Back in August, Twitter announced that it would start testing the DM search feature on the desktop and iOS, allowing users to search through direct messages for the specific content they are looking for.
However, there are some restrictions for this feature, including it’s limited to only the latest DMS – and it’s not too useful considering that if you are looking for something, it’s probably the old message.
In today’s update, Twitter announced that it has brought this same feature to Android and expanded to cover old messages other than newer ones. It is not clear whether the desktop and iOS version of this feature also now supports searches through old messages.
The company notes that it is working on other updates to features that will allow users to search through DMS content, making it more useful for times you can remember certain conversations or topics, but not with whom you chat. The update is scheduled for the release later this year.
