People in Wyze sent emails to users of Wyze products this week warning price increases on the product. They suggest that they see “big costs” on the “almost material” they use to produce smart products of all kinds. Starting on May 18, 2021, Wyze will increase their product costs, including (but not limited to) Wyze Cam V3.
This is not the first time Wyze Cam V3 has had a supply problem thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic. Back in January this year, Wyze Cam V3 (then just launched) has a supply problem at the gate. It won’t be surprising to see this situation (and announcements like this) appear with other similar companies in the near future.
Wyze records this week that the cost increase has achieved all parts of the manufacturing and packaging process. Plastic, metal, memory, and – especially – silicone chip. They said they expected costs to “continue to rise” over the next year. They continue to explain that they expect their prices “to volatile for the future.”
Partly to ward off the increase in spare parts prices, Wyze said they would begin to enter shipping prices at the price of each product sold through Wyze.com. In a little expression, they say that they “will offer” free shipping “” – with quotes around “free shipping.”
As a result they will release the point where the shipping costs are shock at the checkout point. They have suggested that including the shipping costs at regular prices also have to make their prices “easier than our retail partners.”
This is not the first company to suggest that they will have flux prices in the near future due to Covid-19 pandemic and fall during this year (and years). It would be interesting to see how the old company adjusted and the new company swung to take advantage of it too.
